DESCRIPTION AND APPLICATION


The basic principle of water mist fire suppression is the application in all the protected area of very thin water drops, of the order of the tenth of millimeters.

The largest application of this system has taken place in the marine field, but thanks to its effectiveness, is now expanding into other areas. The applications on ground fields are: protection of engine rooms and turbines with inflammable liquids, protection of residential areas and offices classified at European level as areas of ordinary risk and protection of under floors in computer rooms of medium size.

Impianti Water Mist The water so thinly divided is capable of having the following combined effects:

a cooling effect;
an inertness effect;
the blockage of transmission of radiant heat.

The dimension of water drops is classified by the norm NFPA 750 according to the dimension of the drops utilized:

class I: drops of 50 um for over 95% of total drops supplied;
class II: drops from 100 to 200 um for over 95% of total drops supplied;
class III: drops from 400 to 1000 um for over 95% of total drops supplied.
